Indonesian Origin: In Indonesia, there is a story called Bapak Oderai (Mr. Oderai) that is linked to the origin of satay. According to the story, the villagers attempted to grill and eat raw meat, which they believed would bring them punishment from the gods. Meat Preparation: Choose the desired type of meat and slice it thinly. Thread the meat slices onto wooden skewers, either marinating them beforehand or marinating them during the grilling process.
Seasoning Sauce: The key element of satay is the special seasoning sauce. Common ingredients used in satay sauce include soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, onions, scallions, minced garlic, minced ginger, chili powder, and coconut milk. Mix these ingredients to create the satay sauce.
